I was one of those people who struggled to keep weight on. I actually needed a waiver to join the military because I didn’t meet their minimum weight requirements, weighing in at a whopping 112 pounds at 5'9". Fast forward 8 years and two babies later, I hovered right around 130. Fast forward again , we had moved to Hawaii. Shortly after, the market crashed and high stress led to a severe case of hives. I was placed on prednisone for a month to “settle down my body’s response”. It cured the hives but also began my body’s shift towards the endless cycle of gaining and losing weight only to gain it again. I put on about 20 pounds in 6 month’s time and continued to gain for the next few years, getting up to 170.
I used HCG drops for a few months and saw some success, dropping down to 158 in September of 2013. I remember being so excited because we were going to be visiting our best friends on Maui where we honeymooned and I’d had to buy new clothes. It was during that trip that I slipped on a piece of loose carpet on the stairs of the vacation rental and barely managed to catch myself before sliding down several steps and hyper-extended my shoulder. It took 1 year of cortisone shots, chiropractic visits and massage therapy before I could even lift anything with my left arm. I was gaining mobility but I was also gaining weight again. All the ground I had gained was lost.
Over the next few years, I tried other products: Isagenix, Plexus and other diet trends. I would lose the weight and put the weight back on (with some extra!) as soon as I stopped the current diet. At 44 years old, I took up running again and at 46 completed my 1st full marathon. Then 2 years later in 2018, I had a hysterectomy followed my the loss of my dad 6 months later. Between more prednisone and recovery time, I gained back 30 pounds nearly overnight. As soon as I was able, it was back to the running and weight training, dropping back down to a more solid 174 in 2019.
In 2020, we moved from our beloved home in the islands across the pond to Texas, where over the next three years, I would face losing my brother to dementia, supporting my mom and sister through our heartbreaking loss, helping mom navigate a triple bypass and many other health issues; all while grieving the immense changes of leaving a place we’d called home for nearly 20 years and feeling like a fish out of water in this very different state called Texas. Needless to say, my body was not handling the stressors well. Exercise was futile, running created an exertion that my body did not recover easily from, I was exhausted all the time, mentally unfocused, and emotionally a bit of a mess.
What I hadn’t realized was that stress, steroids and hormonal imbalance created the perfect storm for my weight to balloon out of control. I went from 120 when I got married to 208 at my worst. Needless to say, I was searching for something that would help me lose the weight and keep it off.
In the spring of 2023, I started seeing my friend Terri’s post on her weight loss success and Skinny Drops. I was just looking for something to help me kick start my metabolism and it appeared the drops would do that. After watching her posts and continued success over time, I finally gave them a try. These drops did so much more than help my metabolism!
In July of 2023, I decided to give them a try for a month. I was still a bit skeptical and wanted to see what happened if I only used them for a month and then stopped for a few months. I lost 15 pounds and kept it off through the holiday “eating” season. I also felt better than I had ever before. January 4, 2024, I started taking the drops again; having now lost over 45 pounds and 20 inches across my entire body. My blood pressure went from 128/80 to 120/70. My hair and nails are growing with noticeably less breakage. My sleep patterns have drastically improved. I am no longer having night sweats! My craving for junk food are practically nonexistent. My waistline is back to what it was over 10 years ago. I even have an hourglass shape, which I never had even in my youth. My skin is firm and not saggy from the weight loss! I am laughing more and feel more emotionally balanced than I have in a really long time. My body has literally been healing from the inside out!
Let me know when you are ready to kick start your weight loss, balance your hormones, break the hold of cortisol and insulin resistance and just feel better!
